I love fiberglass! My technique is to cut strips and lay them on wax paper. The I wet them with the epoxy resin mixture using an acid brush and then lay the strips. Tonight I continued to build up areas between the skirt and bubble. Tomorrow I will sand, fill and possibly prime. I need to paint the skirt both inside and out. My perhaps bizarre paint scheme calls for it to be white even thought the surrounding fuselage skin is red. I will also prep and prime the F-821PP skin where the glare shield is. I should be a lot easier to prime and paint before permanently attaching the wind screen. Again not related to the finish kit but I plugged my GPS antenna into the GPS cable and GPS. I mounted the antenna slightly in front of the baggage door and fired up the GPS. It instantly acquired enough satellites to render a 3D solution! This was from deep inside my house. My portable Magellan GPS can't do this. I need to pick up the pace. I want the plane out of phase 1 before Oshkosh. |
