I decided to move the remote compass sensor further back since where it was seemed too close to the ferrous hardware used to attach the front spar of the HS. I went to Radio Shack and bought a d-sub pin extractor. I pushed the pins out of the DB9 connector, routed the wiring through a grommet in F-810. With this new position I had a fair amount of "service loop" in the wire and not enough behind the panel so I crawled back into the tail cone, loosened Adel clamps and pulled it through. It is clear the folks at Steinair made the cable exactly the right length. I haven't made much progress in the last few days due to having to re-do previous work. Hopefully I'll get more right the first time and things will pick up. |
