I took the major plunge into the world of wiring radios. I started with the connection between the GNS-430 and the GI-106A indicator. I don't have a crimper for the machined HD d-sub pins and am not willing to spend $300 for one. Soldering worked fine. The wires should be well supported so fatigue at the solder joint shouldn't be a problem.
