I installed the panel and powered up the radio stack for the first time. Here are the discrepancies:

• Data card not recognized on GNX-430. Terrain card is recognized. I tried swapping slots.

• No altitude information being received by transponder. I set the EFIS to mode 4 and the transponder to "ICARUS" and it still didn't work.

• Forgot to hook up the enunciator LEDs.

UPDATE 12/20/2006: I took the 430 and cards to Avionics Unlimited in Conroe. They for a metallic flake wedged in the pins in the left data card slot. They plucked it out and the card worked perfectly. It appears likely that it came that way from the factory.
