I decided to take care of a back log of minor projects with the plane. The first one was to move the remote compass sensor from the back of the fuselage to the wing tip. I decided to do this because I can't seem to calibrate the compass accurately enough. When I fly North it seems to drift. Also, the wind readout on the Dynon EFIS always shows unbelievable winds. I drilled out the old mount and pulled the wire from the rear fuselage and under the floor. I then routed it under the elevator pushrod, through the wing and out to the tip. I installed a mount I had purchased a few months ago and hooked everything back up. While I had the floor out, I carpeted the rear passenger footrests and the floor under the rudder pedals. I also flipped two bolts on the rudder pedal bar that seemed took close to the floor. I also replaced a leaking LP brake fitting. |
