Today's project was to make sure the jig was completely square and true relative to the firewall. I measured the diagonals from the edges of the firewall to find the center of the rearmost station. This didn't seem accurate enough so I used a carpenter's square with one edge on the firewall and the other to set the position of a string going down the center. I remembered I had a laser from my living room tiling project so I mounted it to square and pretty much did what I did with the string. The first picture above is of me having mounted the laser on a ruler at the rear of the jig. Useless but it looks cool. I mounted the F-812 rear bulkhead using a strip of plywood. |
