Tonight Christine and I riveted in the three plate nuts on the back side of the spar for mounting the inside z-bracket. Then I clecoed together the tank. It wasn't easy. What worked for me was to cleco the nose of each rib into position with the skin outside of the holder so that it opens up. Then I put the tank in the holder and clecoed the rest of it. I then mounted the tank onto the wing and drilled the front part of the inside z-bracket (see the picture on the right).

Everything fits perfectly except the joining strip between the tank and leading edge seems to hold the tank about 1/16" forward on the top side. When I push the tank to the rear near the leading edge, the gap closes. I think once the strip gets riveted to the leading edge this gap will go away.

I keep running out of #40 clecos. I have about 350 but this isn't enough.

Not much will be accomplished tomorrow since I will be going up again in the Citabria at Windsock Aviation. Windsock is at Weiser Airpark which has a 9-27 runway. Since the wind in Houston is almost always howling from the south in the summer (ok, maybe howling is a bit strong), it is a great place to practice x-wind technique.  Hopefully this time I will be able to keep the Citabria more or less on the runway centerline.
