Today I took the family to the circus so I didn't get a whole lot done on the RV-8.
I countersunk the holes on the tank skin for attaching it to the rear baffle. I also countersunk the holes for attaching the tank. I drilled to #19 th screw holes around the outside of the tank skin.
I fabricated the tank attach plate by rough cutting it with the band saw and then smoothing it out with the Scotch-Brite wheel. Yes, the last picture shows it on the wrong side of the rib.
The plans and instructions don't make it sound like the plate's front to back position is very critical. That can't be right with something as structural looking as this. I need to look ahead and\or research on the Internet and see how this gets attached to the fuselage.
