Tonight I deburred and dimpled the stiffeners. Then I roughened them up
with a ScotchBrite pad, buttered them with ProSeal, pasted them onto the
skin and then back riveted them into place. The picture on the left was
taken after I cleaned gobs of the stuff off of the outside of the skin.
The other picture is of the inside, which I did not clean.
I used Christine's digital postal scale with a large Ziplock bag wrapped
around it for measuring. I think the worst part of
ProSealing isn't really the ProSeal but having to dress up like an
astronaut. I had my mask on along with hearing protection, eye
protection and gloves. I had to leave all of that on until I finished
the job and cleaned everything up. |
