I deburred and then dimpled. the outside bottom skin. Skins are ready
for priming. I clecod the skins onto the wind while it was in the wind stand. I clecod in the same order that I planned to rivet to see what order I should do it in. One thing that was clear to me. Doing this in the stand wasn't going to work for me. If I start with the inside rear spar, I would need to peel the skin upward and stick my hand in to buck from below. To reach all the way, I would need to have my shoulder at about 18 inches off the ground and my arm sticking straight up. No way. I then tried it by peeling the skin toward where the fuselage would be. I couldn't get my hand between the skin and the wing walk ribs. There was no way to get my hand in through the smallest hole I could get my hand into and then bend it back 90 degrees to buck the rivets. I think I am going to put the wing back on the table. From there I can peel the skin toward the leading edge and reach in from behind to buck. |
